How We Got Started
Two Decades & Counting
Before John Bender started Bender's Technical detailing, he was working from his basement and had one employee. In 1997, with 19 years experience detailing steel, he purchased the office at 275 Fillmore Ave., and BTD officially became incorporated.
Our first contract was for Occidental Chemical in 1997, the first of many jobs that would allow the business to grow and include up to nine employees over the next 24 years. Today we have six drafters in house, including John.
What's Next for Bender's Tech?
We're glad you asked! John will be here for a while still, but as he looks to retire in the coming years, his oldest son Shawn will be taking things over. Shawn has over a decade of experience in steel detailing, as well as a BA in Business Administration, so rest assured Bender's will be here for your project needs for years to come!
Who Will I Work With On my Project?
That really depends on your unique project needs. We have drafters who work in 2D and some that work with 3D modeling softwares. Our drafters manage their own projects, so you'll be with the same person throughout your project timeline. This means we are able to answer your questions or make any necessary adjustments more quickly to keep your project moving in the right direction. However if you have a larger project or are on a tight time table, our drafters can work together to get you what you need even faster.
Our goal is to give every customer a great experience with quality work and quick turnaround times, without breaking the bank. We value our work and take pride in every project we have the opportunity to work on. To learn more us click the link below.
Community Involvement
When he's not busy detailing, John stays highly active in the Tonawanda community. He volunteers much of his time to local groups such as the Boys & Girls Club, Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army Food Drive and donates goods and resources to others. He sponsors the Tonawanda Police and Fire Departments, and has been a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts for over 20 years.
